ENGLISH SILVER J W BENSON POCKET WATCH "THE BANK" with CHAIN

Experience timeless elegance with this fine  JW Benson silver pocket watch from 1893, showcasing the renowned Bank movement and fully hallmarked in London. The finely crafted sterling silver case features an inner dust cover, a plain cartouche on the back, and is complemented by a top-winding action with an original bow, all in excellent condition.

The dial remains pristine with elegant black numerals and blue steel hands, alongside a refined 60-second sweep dial. The watch measures 50mm in diameter and includes a side pin for easy time setting, protected by the original crystal glass with a beveled edge.

Accompanied by a matching Silver Albert chain from circa 1900 and presented in a fine antique box from the Northern Goldsmiths Company, this pocket watch combines a cool style  with historical significance, making it a perfect collector's item or a gift.

J W Benson originated in 1847 and was founded by James William Benson and Samuel S. Benson who were regarded as one of London’s most prestigious retail jewellers during Victorian times.  They also manufactured their own movements and their company boasted a clientele of British and European Kings, Queens and Princes including of course Queen Victoria and the Prince of Wales.
