Vintage c.1954 Omega Seamaster Ref. 2635 Calibre 354 Bumper Automatic

A handsome and exceptionally well-preserved Omega Seamaster reference 2635-10 SC automatic dating to circa 1954, combining the understated elegance of a classic dress watch with the practicality required for everyday wear. Its silvered dial, polished stainless-steel case and restrained mid-century design make it equally suitable with formal clothing or as a refined daily watch.

The dial is in excellent condition and presents remarkably well, with applied Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, faceted hour markers, dauphine-style hands and central sweep seconds. The surface appears clean and well preserved, with crisp printing and very little evidence of age.

Inside is Omega’s calibre 354, a 17-jewel bumper automatic movement and one of the final generations of Omega bumper automatics before the company adopted full-rotor winding systems. The signed movement appears clean and is an important part of the watch’s appeal, representing a distinctive period in Omega’s post-war development.

The stainless-steel case remains in extremely good condition and shows very little evidence of having been worn extensively over the years. The polished bezel, tapered been worn extensively over the years. The polished bezel, tapered lugs and domed case back retain a strong, attractive profile, making this an unusually well-preserved example for a watch dating from the 1950s. It is fitted with a later black leather strap.
