This rare 70's vintage racing Heuer chronograph, purchased from the family of the original owner, is in excellent shape and shows light wear for its age with only a few very small scuffs from occasional use.  Tonneau-shaped unpolished stainless steel case with screw back, navy minutes/hour bezel, and stainless pushers that work and feel perfectly. The black tritium dial, with  three subsidiary dial is clean and perfectly aged with no blemishes.
  • Circa 1973
  • Model 73663
  • 40mm diameter
  • High-grade Valjoux 7736 caliber movement, 17 jewels
  • Black high-quality perforated racing strap with aftermarket Heuer buckle
  • Original Heuer booklet and service receipt

Why it's special:

Don't get this rare ref. 73663 confused with the cheaper and more common 1163 "Viceroy" model ($88 back in 1972, so long as you also bought a single carton of Viceroy cigarettes!) which used Heuer’s own Chronomatic (automatic) movement as opposed to the famed Valjoux found in this far more rare Ref. 73663, which is easily distinguishable by the winder situated on the right side of the watch.

This Autavia comes from the golden age of racing and while the Carrera was more popular at the time, it was the Autavia that had the real racing heritage and authenticity.
