LONGINES silver hunting cased Antique OTTOMAN EMPIRE watch for Turkish market. This is a rare example of a well running Longines watch with an excellent dial with no hairlines upon which is stated: Longines, Nacib K. Djezvedjian & Sons, Constantinople. Dial is excellent with no hairlines and black traditional Turkish marks for numbers. Hands are blued spade pointers and there is a seconds dial at number six position. This is a key wind and key set watch with a key attached on chain. Movement is signed and numbered Longines and is a 19.57 caliber 15 jewel which was first created by Longines in 1891. Longines emblem inscribed on movement. Case is silver and has seen lots of wear but still looks great for over one hundred years of wear in one family. Front cover of watch is somewhat loose but still works fine and is attached. Dust cover for inside of watch is marked LONGINES with watchmaker’s name and Constantinople as well as Grand Prix medallions from Brussels, Paris, Milan and Geneve awarded to Longines. This is a wonderful collectible owned continuously and passed down through one single family. This is a collectible with esoteric and historic value. SOLD
