The H. Williamson military pocket watch from World War I is a fine example of craftsmanship, featuring a fully jewelled 15-jewel, stem-winding movement, a step up from the more commonly found lower-grade seven-jewel movements of the period. H. Williamson Ltd., based in London, produced a range of pocket watches for the British armed forces during the early stages of the First World War.
This particular watch is marked with an "S" within a star, a symbol for Williamson Watchmaker of Coventry. Measuring 58mm (excluding the winding stem), the watch is encased in a Denison case, a renowned English case manufacturer. Notably, the case displays the same serial number on the dial, back, and side, ensuring the authenticity of this specific piece. The case back also bears the broad military arrow, indicating its military origins.
The white dial, in excellent condition, features black numerals and black hands. The watch runs well and includes a leather Albert strap adding a touch of classic sophistication.
