The Hamilton Co. was considered the “Railroad timekeeper of America,” and railroad grade watches were the company’s basic mission. As a result, the company made very few dress pocket watches. Therefore, this Hamilton Grade 975 Model 2 was rare and special.
This very beautiful dress watch features an Arabic numeral dial with black spade pointers and red five minute marks , a fine 17 jewel screw set movement all housed in a dressy hunter case. There is a patented regulator and movement has been adjusted to temperatures. This size 16 watch is pendant set and wind.
This well running and serviced Hamilton 975 movement is housed in a gorgeous and equally unusual beautifully engraved gold fill hunter case of the ART DECO era and features leaves, pontils and a house scene as well as an open shield ready for your initials.
If you’re a fan of Hamilton’s fine pocket watches and are looking for a fine specimen of the Hamilton Watch Company’s craftsmanship, this watch certainly fills that role. It displays beautifully, and the well -functioning hunter case elevates this timepiece into a league of its own.
Ashton-Blakey Vintage Watches has provided watches and chains to members and executive of the Vintagers Club of America.
