ENGLISH Sterling Pocket Watch

H8417

LONDON,  W. HINDS, Sterling silver size 16 pocket watch.  The W. Hinds family started in the watchmaking industry in 1825 when Joseph Hinds opened a shop in Stamford, Lincolnshire.  Over the years, many members of the Hinds family  became involved in the jewelry and watchmaking world.  They had six jewelry shops called W. Hinds and are still trading to this day.  This watch is a lovely and well running 15 jewel Swiss with a fine, sparkling three finger fish scale damascened movement.  The dial is perfect white enamel and double sunk with thick black Art  Deco style Roman numbers and black spade pointers.  There is a seconds dial at the number six position.  The dial is signed W. Hinds, London.  The case is sterling silver and is hallmarked and plain with no initialing at all and is 50 mm diameter.   There are a couple of tiny bruises on back but just part of the vintage look and appeal of this watch.  You will enjoy wearing this  pocket watch.  Add your nice sterling chain and you will be proud to show it off.
