Fine Quality Silver Pocket Watch by Kendal & Dent — Makers to the Admiralty
A fine quality silver pocket watch with full British hallmarks for Birmingham, 1925. Kendal & Dent were among London’s finest makers and official Watchmakers to the Admiralty — renowned for their precision and craftsmanship.
The watch houses a Swiss jewelled movement, in excellent condition and fully working. The movement is exceptionally clean and fitted with a high-quality regulator, showing the care and finish expected from this distinguished maker.
The solid silver case features a top-wind action with a strong bow, perfect case hinge, and a plain cartouche to the back. The watch crystal is clear and free from cracks or chips, with a bevelled edge.
The white enamel dial is of excellent quality, featuring Roman numerals, a sunk subsidiary seconds dial at six, and the original blued steel spade hands. It is clearly signed:
“Kendal & Dent, London, Makers to the Admiralty, The Kendentic.”
Marking “Swiss Made” at the base confirms the high-grade Swiss manufacture supplied for Kendal & Dent’s London retail house.
An excellent example of English design paired with Swiss precision — a fine period piece and an ideal gift. More photos available on request.
